Thanks, David, for the info on Edgley's novel. Here's something more:

- born 1912, died ?
- ghosted novels at some time of his career
- wrote for radio and TV
- wrote 16 crime novels, some as by Robert Bloomfield, one with his wife, Mary Edgley, as by Brook Hastings
- he and wife were named communists in 1952

A Finnish commentator says that FEAR NO MORE is a modest crime novel, reminiscent of Cornell Woolrich and Cukor's GASLIGHT.
