If I remember it correctly, Smilla's Sense of Snow, was a
detective story
(involving the murder of a little boy) that took a sort of
sci-fi twist in the last third. Don't know if I would call it
noir, but I remember it wasn't a bad book, although it's been
a long time since I read it.
