I just read a very interesting article by Jonathan Lethem
called The Ecstasy of Influence
(www.harpers.org/TheEcstacyOfInfluence.html) about, among
other things, the fine line between being influenced by and
plagiarizing your artistic forbears. In passing, he mentions
"Eduardo Paolozzi's collage-novel Kex, cobbled from crime
novels and newspaper clippings." Has anyone read Kex? What's
it like? Are they American crime novels? Are the sources
recognizable?
