Richard Barre's Wil Hardesty series has a similar feel to
Bosch. If you don't mind jumping the pond, I bet you'd enjoy
Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus books and John Harvey's Charlie
Resnick books. I'd also read James Crumley's series, and you
might go back to Ross MacDonald's Lew Archer books, which
stand up very well. Loren Estleman's Amos Walker, Marcia
Muller's Sharon McCone, Jeremiah Healey's Cuddy books. If
cops are okay, you should dip into K.C. Constantine's books,
Ed Dee, and of course Ed McBain. I second the Dennis LeHane
series, and might add S.J. Rozan and Harlan Coben's Myron
Bolitar stuff. Oh, and Walter Moseley's Easy Rawlins.
There, that's about 790 books, all top-drawer stuff...
