I checked the DVD, which I have but have yet to watch, and
the White novel was THE SNATCHERS (1953). I bought the movie
because of Boone not Brando and I will definitely move it up
in the stack to be watched.
A followup question. I recall reading a piece by Westlake
about crooks who used a Lionel White novel as a model for a
crime and it worked beautifully until they ran out of book.
If anyone else read this article, which I believe was
reprinted in an MWA anthology, was the White novel THE
SNATCHERS? The criminals following the novel in real life
were not U.S. I have a whisp of a memory they were
French.
