*************** Your comment about Bruno Fischer is interesting. Wasn't he a pulp writer? In Frank Gruber's memoir, Pulp Jungle, he states that none of them had much politics, and I think Fischer was one of his cohorts. My guess is that Gruber wasn't always aware of what his buddies were thinking.
