FREEZER BURN is my favorite Lansdale book. Everyone should
read it if only for the opening chapters which describe the
main character's mother and the ill-fated robbery which put
him on the run. Laugh out lound funny.
It's been five or six years since I read it but I
don't remember any Bibical themes other than the Christ
reference you already mentioned. I suppose a case could be
made for a "We're all the same under God's eyes" theme
because of all physical issues of some of the supporting
characters.
Wasn't there a sexual intrigue going on between
the wife of the carnival owner and the main character? She
was a temptation to him?
