Reprinted from CADS #44, October 2003, and now online at
www.mysteryfile.com is a long article by Josef Hoffmann about
Ludwig Wittgenstein and Norbert Davis, two authors whom he
suggests had a lot in common. Part of the discussion deals
with the essence of what makes hardboiled fiction hardboiled,
which of course some of you may be interested in. Bill
Pronzini and I have added a bibliography of most, if not all,
of Norbert Davis's fiction.
Best
Steve
