RARA-AVIS: Julian Maclaren-Ross

Mr. Holden mentioned on the Anthony Powell mailing list that there's a new web site up for the writer Julian Maclaren-Ross (1912-1964). If you know or like English mid-century writing, have a look.

I mention it here because it says he had an interest in Chandler, Hammett, and film noir, and a short Chandlerian piece is available, "So Long, My Buddy":

It may not surprise you, given all the Chandler pastiches and criticism now, but I never knew Maclaren-Ross was interested in this sort of writing, and he probably did this back in the fifties when it was much rarer.
