I see a fair amount of nervous tension. It's a cold movie, so
the tension is less overt than in other noir classics. And,
as somebody already said, the cinematic treatment is pure
noir.
From a noir box I got in France, I've recently watched _White
Heat_ (superb), _Public Enemy_ (also superb, and this one I
had never seen), and D.O.A. (absolutely superb). Not from
this box, _Killer Bait_ (or _Too Late for Tears_) a wonderful
B movie with excellent acting by all concerned. I hadn't even
heard of this movie, which I found in a cutout bin at a
store.
