Anything that reawakens interest in Williams is fine with
me.
**************** We're talking about DEAD CALM Williams? I've
enjoyed several of his books, and thought that RIVER GIRL was
brilliant. I'm planning on taking another novel of his on
vacation. Haven't decided which. Think I'll take something by
Gil Brewer, too. I've never read him. Patricia Highsmith,
too. Never read her. Time to fix that.
Speaking of movies, I've been working my way through the noir
selections at Netflix. I don't know a damn thing about noir
movies so I pretty much take what they recommend. I've got
one coming soon called Union City, I believe, based on a
short story by Cornell Woolrich called Rear Window. I've read
his I MARRIED A DEAD MAN, but nothing else.
