Quite a few within the hardboiled/noir genre, including
Hammett's RED HARVEST and Chandler's BIG SLEEP. I was
surprised at how many of them I've read.
A lot of them were novels that I'd rate highly also. I
wouldn't even have mentioned the list if Hemingway's THE SUN
ALSO RISES didn't make the grade.
It's interesting that RED HARVEST made the list but MALTESE
FALCON didn't.
