I'd agree with your last sentence, but I didn't enjoy Hidden
River nearly as much as Dead. Dead was a truly wild ride
whereas Hidden River was more down to earth and I did see the
twist coming. However, if Hidden River is McKinty's
"sophomore jinx" he didn't fall very far and is a terrific
writer.
