To repeat from my earlier note, The Shield is pure noir, and
Vic Macky, from the first episode where he kills a cop to
protect himself from from having his corruption uncovered, is
doomed. And that doom, regardless of Macky's attempts to pull
himself out from under it, has been persistent throughout the
series.
