Yes, you're right. It was published in the UK as "The Murder
of Marion Mason" [crappy title..] and later in the US as
"Room for Murder" (Signet 1950). It's a Singer Batts novel
according to Hubin, too.
I haven't read much by Dewey in recent years, but I
