You can't go wrong with any Ross Thomas. BRIARPATCH won the
Edgar for best mystery of its year. I'll chime in on behalf
of FOOLS IN TOWN. The length works in the book's favor, and
Lucifer Dye is one of Thomas' triumphs. I'm also a fan of
TWILIGHT AT MAC'S PLACE, which like many of his books seems
even more relevant today. I've got OUT ON THE RIM waiting to
go. Hope I get to it one of these days.
