Welcome. I believe you mistyped the author's name, however.
It's Georgette Heyer, who while considered a decent Golden
Age mystery novelist is much more well known as an author of
regency romances. In fact she is generally regarded as being
the "inventor" of the historical regency romance genre. (Jane
Austen's books being contemporary regency romances, if you
see what I mean.)
While not having read any of Heyer's mysteries, I've always
had the strong impression they would be more closely
considered, dare I say the word, cozies, than hard-boiled
fiction.
I could be wrong, and thanks for the nudge. It's about time I
actually read one, to find out.
