I like the fact that from the moment Spade tells the police
that Gutman and Cairo are headed for the airport until
Polhaus shows up at Spade's apartment to tell him that
they've been captured is about two minutes of uncut screen
time. Hardly time for them to have gotten down the elevator,
and scarcely time for Polhaus to have gotten into his car,
let alone drive to Spade's apartment (presuming Gutman and
Cairo were captured by different policemen.)
