I saw the film "Red Lights", from the out of print novel by
Simenon. It was excellent: about manhood, marriage, the
culture of the automobile
(as weapon, as well as method of travel), self-image, what
the French describe as ennui or nausea, and about what family
is. The background music is from DeBussy's "Clouds." The
first time we hear the music is as background of a French
superhighway. I believe many fine films have been made from
Simenon's novels over the years, maybe more than any other
crime writer except Chandler(?). It is a tribute to the
depths he explores in his stories, and to his tight
plotting
