miker, you praised Nightmare Alley enough times that I
finally listened. I pulled it off my bookshelves and read it.
You are absolutely right about how good it is. It completely
deserves its classic status. Even though I knew almost from
the beginning how the book was going to end, it took a number
of surprising turns on its way there. And when that ending
did come, its inevitability made the lack of surprise
irrelevant.
Has anyone read the graphic novel adaptation? Is it any good?
And why hasn't the film been released on DVD?
