It's a police procedural. And I like to think that my
character, Dan Sullivan, is tough and colloquial. I honestly
can't say it really qualifies as noir, though, neither by the
"atmospheric" qualities by which I define it, nor by the
"nihilistic pessimism" by which others define it.
If you're interested, I can steer you to a couple of Sullivan
short stories that are available on the 'Net and you can
judge the relative hard-boiledness and noirness of the
character yourself.
