Since I was on the Gulf of Mexico, I thought it'd be appropriate to read a Gulf of Mexico book. I have read RIVER GIRL and HOT SPOT but had not read any of Charles Williams's sailing books. I liked SCORPION REEF but RIVER GIRL is still my favorite.

I had reservations about the unreliable narrator ploy he used in SCORPION REEF. I thought it diminished the final impact.
