I read Al Guthrie's TWO-WAY SPLIT this week, and it delivers
the goods. There are some really tough characters, armed
robbers and an ex-con, along with some wannabes ( including a
p.i. whose fictional heroes are Max Thursday and Johnny
Killain. How can you not like a guy like that?). The story
takes an unexpected turn about midway through, which proves
once again that titles can mean what they say in a lot more
ways than you'd think. This book, along with the long-awaited
reprint of James Reasoner's TEXAS WIND, gets the PointBlank
line off to a great start.
