Collins has done many TV and movie novelizations. He's always
insisted in putting his own name on them, and he thinks they
help his career. (People who might not otherwise read his
books become familiar with his name.) He even wrote the
novelization of the movie version of ROAD TO PERDITION, which
was based on his graphic novel. That must have been
interesting. He uses a researcher, which saves him a lot of
time on those CSI books and on his historical novels.
