Two notable recent reads:
Joe Gores's _Wolf Time_, a tight, nervous, nasty package with
the feel of an old Gold Medal. Rereading it deepened my
appreciation for this artist's narrative technique.
William Campbell Gault's _Night Lady_, a beautiful example of
Gaultiana. This Joe Puma is a prime candidate for reissue
(anybody listening)?
Blurb on cover (bare-bosomed girl on bed with feet up):
What was on her back spelled money-What was on her mind
spelled murder_ Even a muscle-brained private cop could read
Dynamite on that package.
Best,
MrT
