I heard the retired NYC policeman and now novelist Ed Dee
speak on a crime fiction panel this past spring and chatted
with him briefly afterward. I believe he has been discussed
here previously by rara-avians. Anyway, I worked my way
through his first four books and found them all well-written,
well-paced, gritty, and intriguing. They were a series
featuring the same protagonist. Now, I've started his latest,
THE CON MAN'S DAUGHTER, which, sad to say, looks to be a
standalone (I'd grown to like the series characters). Anyway,
Mr. Dee follows in the ex-cop/writer tradition of Dorothy
Uhnak who blurbed his first books.
