I've never had any interest in these mysterious early Blocks.
On the one hand, I don't like the cult of personality; on the
other, if the author doesn't want them reprinted, the books
must be pretty bad. Even the goofy Chip Harrison books, which
*were* reprinted (the first one, No Score, deceptively
presented as a mystery on the cover), are no great shakes.
They should probably have been left dormant.
Some of the best Block is in his collections of short
stories, which cover his career pretty well.
