Interesting thread. The author who immediately came to mind
for me was James Lee Burke, who has been particularly guilty
of writing the same book now for the last 5 or 6 books he's
released. I remember vague feelings of "haven't I read this
before," with some of Burke's books. It wasn't until I read
his book _Heartwood_, the second Billy Bob Holland book, and
then almost immediately after read _The Lost Get-Back
Boogie_, one of his earliest books, and something of a
template for the Dave Robicheaux series, that I realized I
was on to something: these two books are virtually identical.
Yet I keep on reading Burke and await each new book
eagerly.
