While we're on the subject of Pohl, might as well remark that
his and Kornbluth's "Space Merchants" is both seminal and
highly recommendable. (I haven't read the follow-up
volume.)
Fredric Brown's "What Mad Universe" is pretty terrific too,
for that matter.
