including the infamous shot of the actual execution of Ruth
Snyder. Note, however, the article erroneously attributes
Cain's interest in the case to his writing of DOUBLE
INDEMNITY. While the case may have indirectly (though
doubtlessly) influenced that novel, Cain's own words cite it
as the direct inspiration for POSTMAN, not DOUBLE. Otherwise,
it gives a good overview of the case.
