If you had finished the book, I think you would have found it
less random and senseless than the early parts suggest. But
"disturbing" I won't argue with.
In the year of publication, this won a Dagger award here for
best first crime novel. It's a very visual, cinematic kind of
book which made me suspect that the author is a film
writer.
