Yes, BONE ORCHARD reads like a book in the middle of a series, with lots of unexplained references to past events, and POISONED ROSE is a prequel. The funny thing is that it, too, has many references to past events, and I wonder if the third book might be a prequel to the prequel. I'm hooked.
