I saw it yesterday and I agree. The excellent acting almost made me not care that the plot does not contain a single surprise for anyone who has ever seen a con job movie before, from The Sting to The Grifters to Mamet's pair, House of Games and Spanish Prisoner. Still fun to watch it play out, though.
