I meant to convey general agreement with all your points; and
I did modify "disdain" to "preference" since you had already
mentioned getting the Chandler collection as a requested
Christmas present, which, clearly, you wouldn't have done if
you actually disliked short fiction in general or Chandler's
in particular.
