Interesting back story about the two MacDonalds. On this
point, FWIW, _Washington Post_ critic Jonathan Yardley not
long ago mentioned George Pelecanos and other crime novelists
in an essay he wrote for "Book World." I think this essay was
flagged on a post to rara avis.
