Great list, Al. I've read all those books (except one), and I
second your recommendations. I'd add BLACK WINGS HAS MY
ANGEL, but probably that one's unobtainable. I'll probably
come up with some others when the '50s roll around. I was
glad to see your mention of David Markson, a guy whom nobody
much seems to remember these days. I was reminded Ross
MacDonald by his books, but that could just be me. I liked
the books, though, and I can even forgive him for writing
DIRTY DINGUS MAGEE. (Actually, the book wasn't bad. But the
movie was.)
