My brief discription of Bardin's work would be "part Cornell
Woolrich, part James M. Cain." His characters are plagued by
their own psychology and by the way some villain manipulates
that psychology.
Penguin Books published some of Bardin's books a few years
ago, as well as an omnibus volume. Check Abebooks.com and
Amazon's listings for those. And THE DEADLY PERCHERON is
available now from Poisoned Pen Press.
