I finished BLUE MURDER (which is actually quite short) and I
can see why people aren't sure if Bellem's doing a parody or
if he thought that was good writing. The language is a riot,
even though it tones down over the course of book. Some
roscoes do sneeze ka-chow or cough ka-chee at the end,
though. The plot is outrageous, and every chapter someone
outlines a few possible solutions of the crime to someone
else. Damned good fun, though, and I'm going to find some Dan
Turner short stories.
