I'd recommend the following of his novels in the mystery
field:
any of the Ed and Am Hunter series:
The Fabulous Clipjoint (1947) The Dead Ringer (1948) The
Bloody Moonlight (1949) Compliments of a Fiend (1950) Death
Has Many Doors (1951) The Late Lamented (February 1959) Mrs.
Murphy's Underpants (1963)
the first four (which are among the best to my way of
thinking have just been reprinted in a one volume omnibus
entitled:
Hunter and Hunted: The Ed and Am Hunter Novels, Part One
(2002)
which you can find on Amazon.
Also recommended are:
The Screaming Mimi The Far Cry The Lenient Beast His Name Was
Death
and Dennis McMillan published most of Brown's pulp magazine
detective stories in several volumes during the 80's and
90's. Some are very rare and expensive, but some are easy to
find and affordable. You might want to check out some of
those.
