I saw mention that Serpent's Tail is publishing a new book by
Woody Haut: HEARTBREAK AND VINE: THE FATE OF HARDBOILED
WRITERS IN HOLLYWOOD. It's out now in the UK, and will hit
North America early next year.
A reviewer on the BBC's web site says, "Woody Haut's book
focuses on the experiences, good and bad, of hardboiled
fiction writers in Hollywood, from Hammett and Chandler to
Elmore Leonard and James Ellroy. He discusses both their
attempts to write scripts and the attempts of Hollywood to
film their books. Very readable."
Sounds interesting.
