Good read ... not the best, but good none the less. More noir
than hard-boiled. Good example of a publisher labeling for
marketing vice actual content. There's no reason why this
book belongs in literary vice the mystery shelves. Hammett
and Crumley? Not that good.

I was at Borders bookstore this evening and I found a book in the literature section called MR. WHITE'S CONFESSION, I believe by Robert Clark. It compares him on the cover to Hammett and Crumley. Has anybody read this book? Is it any good?
