Miker, the truth is that I don't remember which Whittington
piece is in The Big Book of Noir. I don't believe it's a
reprint of my Murder off the Rack article, though. It's
probably a reprint of the introduction I wrote for the
C&G edtion of one of Whittington's novels.
And speaking of Vin Packer writing YA novels, another of the
very early Gold Medal writers was A. S. Fleischman, who's
huge in the kids' book world under the name Sid Fleischman.
He's still writing, and at least one of his kids' books was
done as a movie by Disney (Bullwhip Griffin). His son is also
a writer.
