Can anyone give me a basic list of the very earliest female
writers/detectives who were not in the "drawing room" or cozy
genre? I don't want to open a "what's hardboiled and what
isn't" discussion, but I'd like to know who the earliest
female writers/detectives were that were influenced by the
early pioneers such as Hammett, Chandler, Daly, and
others.
