could have called it _On the Road_. You will admit that he
had bad luck with the title...
I have not read this book (I've never seen a copy of it), but
that opening paragraph is not promising. It reminds me of
speakers who shuffle papers around and talk to themselves
while the audience waits (and then say no, of course they
don't need a microphone).
