Jim Beaver:
I picked up Charles Willeford's "The
> Burnt Orange Heresy," Max Allan Collins's "The Pearl
Harbor Murders," and
> Doug Swanson's "House of Corrections." Should I keep
them? (Obviously
I'll
> keep the Willeford, after all I've read here, but
the others, I don't
know.

me.)

Jim, I've read the first two in the Swanson series but not
that (It's in my ever growing tbr pile while looking for the
previous book, 96 Tears). I like him. I would compare him to
Pete Hautman or a non- grotesque Hiaasen. That would not be
considered hard boiled by some on this list. Mark
