Heck, I still love the Prunes. I was so excited to hear they
were playing a show in NYC last year that I started to make
plans...until a friend hip to these things told me the band
should be billed as the Electric Prune.
But back on topic. I remember being harrassed by people many
years ago about how I *had* to read Last Exit to Brooklynn. I
finally broke down and took the plunge. I didn't think it was
that bad, good enough to keep reading until I got to the
really good part. But the end came before I got there.
Perhaps Requiem for a Dream is better. I loved the
movie.
I think we will always be able to wear Bill Burroughs
t-shirts with pride. No matter how badly the experimental
stuff ages, there's always Junkie.
