I reviewed this book for my website and called the dedication "heartfelt". It's my guess Pronzini was in fact dedicating this book to himself, something I've never heard of before but which I think is entirely appropriate. This is the last book in the series, after all, and only Pronzini really knows all the work that went into it. Why not say, "Yeah! I did this!"
