Al: I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Suicide Hill
once you get around to it. It's my favorite of the early
Ellroy novels by a long shot.
Rene: I know you can't stand The Cold Six Thousand, thinking
about Suicide Hill got me wondering what you think of other
Ellroy books. If you've gone on at length on this already,
let me know and I'll give the archives another once
over.
At the advice of the fine folks on this list I've picked up
Westlake's The Ax and the new one from Kenneth Abel (Abbel?)
for holiday reading (along w/ some UK noir) over the long
weekend.
Chris
