Rumble Tumble w/Hap Collins and Leonard Pines as the protags.
Lively if not farfetched yarn. Lansdale's action/ fight
sequences are well-done. Certainly fits the "country/rural
noir" label discussed here. A great rousing read.

thats the only lansdale i've read. as another rare bird
remarked to me, "you've got to read more lans- dale." i
thought the bantering back and forth between hap and leonard
was fun. i don't think lansdale is writing a comedy, but i do
think he's writing with a sense of humor.
and, of course, no discussion of _rumble tumble_ is complete
without a word for the midget. that poor guy took a hell of a
lot of abuse. i'm thinking that lansdale could probably be
dragged into politically correct court for all the comic
abuse heaped upon this height-challenged individual.
