I've read his last two books, both _Cold Is the Grave_ and
_Aftermath_, and while not exactly hardboiled, they are
pretty rough. _Aftermath_, in particular, is very horrific at
times, as it deals with the fallout after the discovery of a
married couple who appear to be co-operating serial killers.
Robinson reads something like Ian Rankin, though Rankin is
much more obviously a hard-boiled writer. I like his work and
have been searching for others in used book stores, but he
strikes me as closer to the Inspector Morse/Inspector Wexford
strain of British mystery.
